OUR PROJECT
Project Alley-Oop
Love basketball?
Can you do a Tomahawk dunk?
If not, NEVER MIND! Let's join us to Alley-Oop with children instead <3 <3 <3
This summer, Junior Help will bring the game to Birla village. Sound fun?
On Saturday morning, July 13, 2024, at Birla Youth Village in Hanoi, members and volunteers of Junior Help implemented the Junior Alley-Oop basketball project initiated by project leader Nguyen Anh. The group donated 24 uniforms, 24 pairs of shoes, 15 basketballs, and two basketball hoops to orphaned, disadvantaged, and homeless children. Junior Help strives to spread the love of basketball, wanting to give children here the opportunity to access and practice this sport every day.
Founded in 1987, Birla Children's Village is a home for numerous orphans of varying ages. With almost four decades of operation, the village has cared for over 200 orphans. Currently, Birla Children's Village supports 82 children aged between 2 and 22, many of whom have lost one or both parents, and have no other support.
The village leaders expressed their deep appreciation for the valuable gifts from Junior Help and their hope that the organization's meaningful contributions would continue to extend to more underprivileged children, especially those who are poor and homeless, contributing to developing a brighter future society.
Recognizing the many benefits of basketball for children's physical and mental development—such as promoting height growth, strengthening bones, fostering discipline, enhancing focus, improving agility, and building team spirit and mutual support—Junior Help hopes that their project will instill a love of basketball in the children and provide them with numerous practical benefits.

Thanks so much to Hanoi Fossil Museum to understand and co-work with us to nurture children's volunteerism.

Building bathrooms for Dao San students
Update: As of March 5, 2024, fundraising has reached to VND 36.6 million.
Dao San commune is one of the communes with the coldest weather compared to other communes and districts of Lai Chau province. The weather here is cold all year round, especially in winter when the temperature drops to 1 degree Celsius. In particular, Dao San Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities has 229 day-boarding students, including 120 male day-boarding students, 109 female boarding students.
Currently, there is no separate bathroom for male boarding students. This greatly affects their daily activities. A bathroom for boarding students at Dao San with a total area of 24m2, including 4 bathrooms of 2.1m2 and a common space of 12m2 will have a construction cost of around VND 35 million.
